Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement
Effective date: September 4, 2026
1. What This Acknowledgement Is
This acknowledgement explains, in plain language, what SportsReps is, what we do, and what we cannot do, so that parents and guardians can make informed decisions about their athlete’s training.
By creating an account and using SportsReps to book or communicate with coaches, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this page.
2. What SportsReps Is
SportsReps is an online marketplace that connects families with independent youth sports coaches, and provides tools for discovery, booking, scheduling, payments, messaging, and progress tracking.
Coaches, facilities, teams, and event organizers on SportsReps are independent third parties. They are not employees, agents, or partners of SportsReps, and we do not control how they run their sessions.
3. What SportsReps Does
We provide the platform: coach profiles, search and discovery, booking and payment tools, messaging, session notes, and development resources like roadmaps and video feedback.
We ask coaches to complete our verification process, which includes uploading identification and background check or safety certification documents, and we review what they submit.
We respond to reports from families and remove coaches who violate our policies.
4. What SportsReps Does Not Do
We do not employ, supervise, or direct coaches. Each coach decides how, where, and when they train.
We do not continuously monitor, observe, or attend training sessions.
Our verification process is a good-faith review of documents a coach submits — it is not a guarantee of a coach’s conduct, character, or suitability for your athlete. No screening process can eliminate all risk.
We do not guarantee any particular result from training.
5. Your Role and Responsibility as Parent or Guardian
You are the decision-maker. You choose which coach your athlete works with, and you should review each coach’s profile, credentials, reviews, and verification status before booking.
We encourage you to be present at in-person sessions, or to arrange supervision appropriate for your athlete’s age and circumstances, and to speak with your athlete about their comfort and safety in every coaching relationship.
Trust your judgment. If anything about a coach, location, or situation feels wrong, cancel the arrangement and let us know.
6. Reporting Misconduct
If you experience or witness misconduct, inappropriate behavior, or anything that makes your athlete unsafe, report it to us immediately through the platform or by email, and contact law enforcement if a crime may have occurred.
We take every report seriously, especially those involving minors. We will investigate, suspend or remove coaches where appropriate, and cooperate with authorities as required.
7. Assumption of Risk and Release
You understand that sports training involves inherent physical risks, including the risk of injury, and you voluntarily assume those risks on behalf of yourself and your athlete.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that SportsReps is not liable for the acts, omissions, or misconduct of independent coaches or other third parties on the platform. Your booking relationship is with the coach, not with SportsReps.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SportsReps from claims arising from a coach’s or third party’s conduct, except to the extent such claims result from SportsReps’ own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Nothing in this acknowledgement limits your rights against a coach who has harmed you or your athlete, or your right to report misconduct to authorities. This page only describes SportsReps’ role as a marketplace, not as the provider of the training itself.
8. Questions
If anything here is unclear, contact us before booking. We would rather answer your questions than leave you guessing about your athlete’s safety.
